LOOKING AFTER OUR NATIVE WILDLIFE AND FLORA
WHAT I BELIEVE
It is imperative that we look after our native wildlife and flora for future generations. We have animals that are close to extinction. It was utter stupidity from our government that we have lost animals like the Tasmanian Tiger.
I believe that governments are still not doing enough to protect our native wildlife. We have beautiful birds like the wedge tail eagle that is native to different parts of Australia, yet we put out baits that are killing these birds from different locations and upsetting the natural ecosystem in an area.
Education is key to preserving our native wildlife and flora. It starts with educating our children through what is taught in the school curriculum, then it needs to expand into the wider community.
MY ACTION PLAN
1. More money needs to be allocated to organisations that have been set up to study and preserve our native animals and flora.
2. Education is key to preserving our native animals and flora. These issues need to be taught and intwined in our syllabus that is taught in schools.
3. Because I consider this issue something very serious, if elected I will make it my aim to promote these issues at every opportunity.
